Business Wait in a bookish or IT jargon usually sounds too professional giving a picture of a semi cold ambience with gentle men and 'gentle' ladies having a cup of coffee at the wake of the working hour after which they get back to the business of honing their skills in their respective domains-"Mind u they are formally dressed ( gentlemen neatly and sharply shaved as per Satyam's standards and gentle ladies dressed in gentle attire)".Every Associate is given a seperate computer to work and every client prefers its corporate vendor to have enuf people in the business wait so that as soon as their requirement knocks the door ,they are provided with a bunch of professional labours good at the skills required .
Now lemme tell u business wait is also known as 'Bench'. No !!!!!! dont ask me why is it called bench...my corporate dictionary doesn't have it. Practically speaking these two terms are different.
Freshers ,after going through their training have a stop before being allocated a project to work on ,which is called "Business Wait" or "Bench" . This Bench period is indefinite as we do not know when we are given a project. The more u spend ur time on bench, the more sloppy u turn....U might ask me why?????i will tell u .
Boarding the bus and travelling for an hour to step into the office which is quite far from the heart of the city makes you dull and drowsy. The moment u reach the office it makes u feel " uhh!!! Why did this 'God damn driver' make it so fast?( poor thing!!!! that driver has many more trips to make to n fro , how would he feel?)
We schlep through the gardens of satyam to the auditorium or what we call the CC(convention centre). This has a capacity of 200 or more having those many PCs in number in that auditorium i.e every member having a computer. Then we enter the room slowly giving a 'Sarkar' like wave to all buddies before settling on the chairs we find empty, then the guy behind sometimes says " Bachchan ke baap !!!! Please park ur ass on that chair for a while" or a pure hyderabadi +telugu guy would say " Anna zara koorcho raade maaku prapancham kanapadthaadi" !!! rolling people to laughter, that will definitely make us sit. After sitting for a while and checking whethe ur comps has the net connectivity u observe ur cell phone ringing damn noisily making everyone look at u...'Guess who called ?????
Its none! but our colleague whoz sitting at the most 5 to 6 feet away from u saying " Arey time sheet fill up chey
nenu bayatakipothunnaaa" n now its our turn to call someone else with the same message and finally one gullible fella has to fill all the time sheets(attendance). In not less than an hour u find people moving out of the auditorium. If u thought they are going home then u are wrong.....they go for various purposes which includes Cafeteria{ Here i should add something...satyam's canteens in this campus (especially) are world class..really, thats why it drags people in large numbers), parks..some to basketball court..some to tennis court..some to billiards n some to table tennis....few to swimming pool...few to gym(which is fantastic to have a look at) and the list goes on like that......thus the resources being completely used by the associates in the business wait.
The routine at our campus is " We come...We play ..We go "............
